OUR APPROACH
Training that makes MORE possible.
At The Reserve, training isn’t about control—it’s about communication, confidence and connection. And it isn’t confined to a single class or training session. Learning is a lifelong part of your dog’s wellbeing, woven naturally into everyday life. Skills like stay, come and loose-leash walking matter, but their greatest value is the freedom, adventures and opportunities they make possible.
We use positive reinforcement and, whenever possible, shape behavior by giving dogs opportunities to think, problem-solve, and discover successful choices. Because every dog and family is different, training is tailored to your goals and needs. Whether you attend day training, train at home, join a class, or work 1:1 with a trainer, the goal is the same: to build the confidence, connection, and skills you and your dog need to thrive together.

Every Day Training Day Includes:
TRAIN
One hour of 1:1 professional training, focused on your learning goals, broken into focused 10–20 minute sessions throughout the day so learning sticks
ENRICH
A customized mental enrichment activity, selected for what engages your dog specifically
EXERCISE
Fitness, spanning aerobic conditioning, resistance work, core and stability exercises, and flexibility — the full range that supports a dog's body, not just a walk around the block
CONNECT
Two Customized social play sessions with compatible dog friends, sized and timed to your dog's social needs
CARE
A brush-out & teeth brushing, because whole-body care is part of whole-body wellness
We don't run every dog through the same routine. The mix, the order, the intensity and the timing are built around what the research shows actually benefits your dog — their age, fitness level, temperament and goals — not a one-size-fits-all schedule.

Built around your goals. Adapted to your dog.
Before Day Training begins, we'll meet with you to understand what you want to accomplish and what would make everyday life better for you and your dog.
Your trainer creates an individualized plan based on your dog's age, temperament, learning style, capabilities and goals.
Training is delivered in short, focused sessions throughout the day, allowing your dog to learn, process, rest and return ready to succeed.
Your goals determine what we teach. Your dog determines how we teach it.
Rest is part of the training.
A dog who knows how to settle can go more places, do more things and be a better companion.
Learning to settle isn't simply about being quiet. It's a life skill that opens up your dog's world.
The ability to relax while you work, settle at a café, remain calm around guests or wait between activities allows your dog to participate in more of everyday life with you.
That's why restorative rest is built into Day Training—and why we teach dogs to choose calm when calm is what the moment requires.
The goal isn't simply a tired dog. It's a dog who knows how to participate in life—and how to settle into it.

Progress you can continue at home.
After each day, you'll receive an update on your dog’s wellness experiences, the skills we worked on, your dog's progress and what to practice at home.
We'll provide recommendations and guidance to help you reinforce their learning in everyday life.
Because your dog may learn the skill at The Reserve.
But the goal is for that skill to become part of your life together.
Come home to a dog who's better for having been here.
A day at The Reserve is more than time spent training.
It's a day to move, learn, explore, connect and rest—designed to support your dog's physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing while building the skills that make everyday life better.
You may come home to a dog who's more confident.
More capable.
More settled.
More physically fulfilled.
More prepared to participate in the world alongside you.
And you get all of that without giving up the day-to-day life you share.
Your dog learns, grows and thrives at The Reserve.
Because time spent training doesn't have to be time spent apart. It can be time invested in a longer, richer life together.
