OUR STORY • THE RESERVE
Because every year with your dog matters.
You love your dog deeply. But between long workdays, travel, and everything life demands, caring for them the way you want to isn't always possible on your own. You're not looking for somewhere to leave them. You're looking for a place that cares for them the way you would — where every day genuinely contributes to their health, happiness, and wellbeing. That's exactly what we set out to build.
It started with
our own dogs.
Our senior dog, Roscoe, showed us what becomes possible when science, movement, nutrition, and exceptional care work together. He tore both ACLs before the age of two and spent much of his life managing arthritis. And yet — guided by a whole-body approach to his health — he lived comfortably, actively, and joyfully in ways his diagnosis never promised.
Then came Twitch.
At three and a half years old, a sudden illness sent him to emergency care. Then he developed sepsis. Eight days in intensive care. No guarantees. Against the odds, he survived. He was alive — but he wasn't himself. The vibrant, joyful dog we knew hadn’t returned. Despite exceptional veterinary care, extensive testing, and months of recovery, no one could explain why.
So we started learning. And we never stopped.
We immersed ourselves in canine nutrition, behavior, physiology, fitness, gut health, environmental design, social wellbeing, and the emerging science of what allows dogs to thrive. What we found was remarkably consistent. The healthiest, longest-living dogs weren't benefiting from a miracle supplement, medication, or treatment. They were benefiting from a lifestyle.
A life rich in friendship. Daily movement. Mental challenge. Time outdoors. Quality nutrition. Rest. Meaningful purpose. Lower stress.
The same ingredients that help humans feel their best appeared again and again in dogs living with more energy, more ease, and more joy.
That discovery changed everything about what we set out to build.

A place designed around one question.
Every program, every environment, every decision at The Reserve is evaluated through a single lens:
Will this improve the quality of life of the dogs entrusted to us?
That question guides us every day — and it's why we think carefully about things most people never see: how stress accumulates in a dog's body, how social dynamics affect wellbeing, how movement, rest, and mental engagement all work together. Every experience here is designed to contribute positively to your dog's health, confidence, and overall wellbeing.
More than three decades of learning what helps dogs thrive.
We've spent over thirty years studying animal wellbeing — raising and training dogs across breeds, temperaments, and life stages; working alongside veterinarians, trainers and behavioralists; rehabilitating injured animals; and studying the latest research in canine behavior, wellness, and longevity.
That pursuit continues today through ongoing education and collaboration with leading veterinary, training, nutrition and behavior professionals.
Because the moment we stop learning is the moment we stop improving the lives of the dogs in our care.

The greatest thing we can offer is more healthy years together.
Dogs give us their entire lives.
They deserve the healthiest, happiest, most fulfilling life we can give them in return.
That's the promise behind everything we do at The Reserve.
